In recent years, Astoria has been experiencing a shift in it's population. The neighborhood increasingly has been attracting young Manhattan professionals searching for cheaper housing.
The transition now seems complete with the opening of the Club 21 Bar & Lounge, which feels more like yuppified Brooklyn Heights or the Upper East Side than Queens. It is stylish sophisticated restaurant with a Continental and Middle-European inspired menu.
The attractive dining room evokes a cozy European country inn with dark wood floor, sturdy wood tables and copper tin ceiling. Rustic, chic it could be called the way Club 21 Bar & Lounge is made of the construction materials of old-iron, brick and heavy wood. Candles and Moroccan lamps provide the perfect romantic glow. Czecho-Slovakian owned Lounge feels European in every since, from the mixed ages to the variety of languages heard. People may be drinking beer or liquor, casually dressed or decked out, but no one seems out of place among flickering glow liquid cool music that ranges from house to Gipsy King songs.
The Main Dining Room comfortably accommodates 50 people for sit down dinner, 40 for cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres. The room features a dramatic 24-foot long antique oak bar with it's original brass fixtures, 18 foot high ceiling, brick walls scattered with American Rock & Pop Music Stars. Relax and Drink a couple of pints in our outdoor Beer Garden.
