The Drosinos family has owned and operated this legendary restaurant for decades drawing raves from those who believe fresh seafood ia as good as it gets, especially in the seaside community. Chef George Drosinos and son, Andy, are responsible for all of the famous dishes the Crabshack is famous for both in presentation and content. Beginning with their breathtaking view, huge windows displaying Long Island's best known vistas, you know this will be a very special culinary experience.
Woodcleft Crabshack - Newsday:
Despite it being across the street from the water, the Crabshack, as everyone calls it, is one of the Nautical Mile's most endearing spots. Decorated in a cheery nautical motif, it serves up all the seafood classics: clams on the half shell, steamers, steamed mussels, red and white clam chowder, fried fish, broiled fish, and, this being Long Island, a handful of Italian dishes as well: zuppa di mare, pasta in clam sauce...
Customer Review of Crab Shack:
The Best Clam Chowder on Long Island
The Crab Shack is a small family run business that is on Freeport's Nautical Mile. It's open all year round. They have the absolute best Manhattan Clam Chowder around. Their prices are fair, the service is good. They use local fish right off the boats in Freeport and also select some from the NYC Fish Market. It's always been very fresh!
